FX Adds Five to Shōgun Season 2 Ensemble

FX is building out the cast for its acclaimed historical drama, "Shōgun," with the addition of five new actors for Season 2. Risei Kukihara, Ryô Satô, Seishiro Nishida, Mantaro Koichi, and Takashi Yamaguchi are set to join the ensemble.
These actors will portray new characters in the continuation of the saga. Season 2 is planned to unfold over a decade after the conclusion of the first season. The plot will once again center on the intertwined destinies of the Japanese lord Yoshii Toranaga and the English navigator John Blackthorne.
The series "Shōgun" draws its narrative from James Clavell's 1975 novel of the same title. Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks developed the series and are serving as its showrunners. The production is handled by FX Productions.
