Sheinelle Jones Transforms Patio into a Zen Oasis

Sheinelle Jones recently invited Today viewers into her new apartment to showcase a beautiful patio renovation. She partnered with designer Preston Konrad to bring character and personality to the spacious, previously empty area. Their goal was to make the patio feel like indoor rooms, complete with a dining area, a living area, and a cozy nook.

Konrad shared practical outdoor design tips, such as layering rugs and using decorative pillows. Jones also added artificial plants, noting her preference for low-maintenance greenery. The segment also featured chef Krissy Downey, who prepared snacks and a special drink for Jones's upcoming housewarming party.

The patio's reading nook, a special feature, was inspired by an Airbnb in South Carolina. Jones recalled finding solace there during the COVID-19 pandemic, reading and enjoying drinks. This experience motivated her to create a similar safe and tranquil space in her own home six years later.

This renovation comes after Jones moved out of her New York City apartment with her three children in May 2026. The move followed the passing of her husband, Uche Ojeh, at age 45 in 2025 after a battle with brain cancer. While preparing for the move, Jones also discovered her wedding dress, which had been significantly marked from walking in Philadelphia.
