Shehnaaz Gill prefers Punjabi films over Bollywood offers

Shehnaaz Gill, who made her Bollywood debut in 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' and also appeared in 'Thank You for Coming,' has discussed her career choices, particularly her increasing focus on Punjabi cinema.

In a recent interview, Gill explained that she receives more opportunities and lead roles in Punjabi films, noting her established stardom in that industry. She attributed this to the industry's focus on popularity and the comparatively fewer female actors available.

Gill emphasized her preference for significant roles, stating she is selective and seeks scripts that allow her to do more than just smile or laugh, seeking meaningful work like in 'Ishqnama.'

Regarding Bollywood, she will only consider films offering impactful characters that drive the narrative. She also expressed a desire to avoid being typecast in glamour-focused roles, aiming instead for powerful performances akin to Radhika Apte, with the ultimate goal of being recognized as a skilled artist. She will next be seen in 'Singh Vs Kaur.'
