Composer Shashwat Sachdev recently appeared on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' with his wife, Shruti Sachdev. Shruti shared amusing anecdotes about their living arrangements in Mumbai, where their initial 1BHK apartment's hall was converted into Shashwat's music studio. As their careers progressed, Shruti insisted on a clear demarcation between his studio space and their home.
Shashwat's desire to have a piano readily accessible led to playful negotiations with Shruti. While she initially agreed to a living room piano, he pushed for one in the bedroom for late-night inspiration. Shruti conceded to a digital piano in their bedroom, with the condition of using headphones. However, she humorously revealed that she later found speakers set up with the piano, much to everyone's amusement.
Shashwat, who began his musical journey with the tabla at age three and later trained in Hindustani classical vocals and Western classical piano, stated that his wife is the main inspiration for his compositions. He has previously composed music for 'Phillauri', 'Veere Di Wedding', and won a National Award for 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'. His upcoming projects include debuts in Telugu and Malayalam cinema with 'The Indian House' and 'Operation Ganga', respectively.
