In a revealing interview, country music icon Shania Twain has opened up about her iconic 1997 hit "That Don't Impress Me Much" and its connection to Hollywood star Brad Pitt. Despite name-dropping Pitt in the lyrics, Twain admits she has never actually met the actor, over two decades after the song's release.
Twain explains that she chose Pitt's name for the lyrics at the time as he was the biggest celebrity making headlines, with a nude photo scandal unfolding. "I was thinking, 'Okay, everybody in the world is in love with Brad Pitt right now,'" the 60-year-old singer says. "There were nude photos out of him, and everyone was gaga over that. And I'm thinking, 'Okay, if there is anyone that is making an impression on anyone...' That's why I picked on him."
While the song's lyrics poke fun at Pitt's celebrity status, Twain insists there is no bad blood between them. "We've never met," she says, acknowledging that she hasn't crossed paths with many Hollywood stars. However, Twain believes Pitt "must be impressed" with the song's enduring popularity and cultural impact over the past 25 years.
