The producer of the 2002 film 'Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam', KC Bokadia, recently shared intriguing anecdotes about casting Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Bokadia revealed that for Salman Khan's role, he approached the actor's father, Salim Khan, who agreed to his son's participation after being informed about the Tamil original, 'Thotta Chinungi'.
Shah Rukh Khan's casting involved a direct offer. Bokadia informed him about the remake and offered Rs 2 crore for approximately 20 days of work, a sum higher than his usual fee. Shah Rukh watched the Tamil version and, despite admitting he didn't understand such films, agreed to be part of the project.
Despite the star power, 'Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam' was a commercial disappointment. Notably, Shah Rukh Khan later refused a pending payment of Rs 95 lakh. Bokadia recounted that Shah Rukh insisted the producer should not worry and even suggested he could earn the amount by making an appearance at a wedding, further highlighting his magnanimous nature.
