Shaan Reveals He Also Considered Quitting Playback

Singer Shaan has shared his own past struggles with playback singing, drawing parallels to Arijit Singh's recent decision to step back from the industry. Shaan admitted that around the age of 33 or 34, he contemplated quitting the profession himself.

He explained that at that point, he had sung for all types of films, from top-tier to lower-grade productions, and felt a sense of overwhelm. Shaan confessed that he also wished to dedicate time to social work, a pursuit his busy singing schedule did not allow.

Shaan recalled advice from fellow singers KK and Sonu Nigam, who urged him to be more selective and "keep his standard." However, Shaan felt compelled to accept singing offers due to the personal requests from colleagues and children of his father's industry peers.

He noted that Arijit Singh appears to have made a more selective career choice, reaching a peak and then focusing only on prominent songs. Shaan suggested that Arijit's decision might stem from this selective approach, though he acknowledged that Arijit has many unreleased songs that will surface in the coming years.
