In a highly anticipated move, acclaimed actor Ncuti Gatwa has been announced to join the cast of the upcoming animated musical "Bad Fairies." Gatwa, known for his breakout role in the Netflix series "Sex Education," will lend his voice to the film, which is set to debut on May 21, 2027.
"Bad Fairies," a joint production between Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation, is described as an "original musical comedy that follows a delightfully subversive gang of fairies as they shake up their magical world." The film is directed by Megan Nicole Dong and co-directed by Olivier Staphylas, with the script written by Deborah Frances-White.
The music of "Bad Fairies" is equally impressive, with the songs penned by the Tony Award-winning duo Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, known for their work on the hit musical "Six." The score is composed by Isabella "Machine" Summers, a member of the acclaimed band Florence and the Machine, who will also contribute to the songs.
The film's creative team includes a wealth of industry talent, including producer Carolyn Soper, editor Sim Evan-Jones, cinematographer James C.J.
