The Severn Vale Arts Trail is commemorating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of supporting local artists. Since its inception in 2006 with just 20 participating artists, the trail has expanded dramatically, now featuring 85 artists across its venues. These venues stretch from Sharpness in Gloucestershire to Frampton Cotterell in South Gloucestershire.
The initiative was established to champion local craftspeople, enabling the public to view and purchase diverse artistic creations directly from artists' studios. This includes a range of items such as paintings, ceramics, jewellery, upholstery, and woodturned pieces. The trail's founder expressed immense pride in its growth and impact over the years.
Currently, the event operates entirely on volunteer support, with no external funding. Organizers highlight that the trail showcases a broader spectrum of works than ever before. Looking ahead to 2026, the trail plans to feature the work of Ukrainian artists residing in the region, further expanding its scope and inclusivity.
