Seoul High-Rise Under Siege by Evolving Infected

A high-rise building in Seoul becomes a battleground after a bio-attack traps its occupants. The narrative centers on the Doongwoori Building, where a biotech conference turns deadly when an attendee is injected with a virus. This unique pathogen enables 'Collective Intelligence,' causing the infected to learn and adapt from encounters.

Survivors, including biotechnology professor Kwon Se-jeong, find themselves in a desperate fight for survival. The infected's ability to share information and evolve poses a constant, escalating threat. Their growing intelligence means that every move made by the survivors could be learned and countered.

Director Yeon Sang-ho's film introduces an innovative concept inspired by ant colonies and beehive behavior. While the early sequences effectively build suspense and showcase the evolving nature of the infected, the film eventually leans more into action. This shift sidelines the fascinating hive-mind concept, leaving the audience with a sense of unfulfilled potential despite engaging suspense and a compelling premise.
