She shared on "Today" that the fatigue associated with MS complicated her role as a parent, particularly in the early years following her diagnosis. She now feels she is in a "good spot".

While allowing an ear piercing, she firmly rejected his request for a facial piercing, emphasizing the importance of communication and safeguarding his well-being. Her experiences with chronic illness have, she noted, enhanced her ability to communicate with Arthur.

Selma Blair also spoke about her past struggles with alcoholism, beginning her sobriety journey in 2016. This period of sobriety preceded her MS diagnosis. She reflected on her deep love for her son, stating he is "the love of my life," and expressed a desire to protect him from harmful influences.
