A new television series, adapted from the 2023 Japanese format "Rebooting," is set to explore the profound concept of second chances. The story centers on a woman who is literally given an opportunity to live her life over, tasked with changing her past to avert her own demise. This premise delves into fundamental questions about whether personal transformation is possible or if all events are predetermined.
The adaptation is being spearheaded by executive producer Corey Nickerson and director Nahnatchka Khan. Nickerson, known for his work on "Black-ish" and "Scrubs," is penning the script. Khan, the creator of "Don't Trust The B In Apartment 23," is directing the project. The series is produced by 20th Television, with Rideback and Fierce Baby also involved in its production. Rideback's recent success includes the live-action "Lilo & Stitch" remake.
This project marks a significant television endeavor for Rideback since appointing Jonathan Gabay as President of Television in February 2025. The company also has Netflix's "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and the upcoming comedy feature "Best of the Best" to its credit. Corey Nickerson and Nahnatchka Khan are executive producing alongside a team from Rideback and Fierce Baby, including Jonathan Eirich, Jonathan Gabay, Michael LoFaso, Robert Leger, and Jennifer Carreras.
