Before achieving Hollywood stardom, Sebastian Stan attempted to launch a music career by auditioning for American Idol. In the early 2000s, Stan and a friend waited in Times Square for their chance to audition.
Stan recalled singing an a cappella medley from Moulin Rouge for the initial casting. Unfortunately, his performance did not impress the producers, and he did not reach the main judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. He recognized his lack of singing prowess for the competition.
Despite this early rejection, Stan has found significant success as an actor. He made his television debut on Law and Order in 2003 and later gained widespread recognition for his role as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stan has previously shared this anecdote, even using it in a game of two truths and a lie.
