Keyla Monterroso Mejia has been cast in a recurring role for the second season of the "Scrubs" revival, joining the ABC comedy series. Mejia will portray Mimi, a high-energy and loyal surgical nurse to Turk (Donald Faison), arriving at Sacred Heart amid some cast changes.
Season 2 will see Ava Bunn, who plays new intern Sam Tosh, promoted to a series regular, alongside returning stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke. The new season follows J.D., Turk, and Elliot as established doctors mentoring the next generation at Sacred Heart.
The "Scrubs" revival, executive produced by original creator Bill Lawrence, is slated to return to ABC this fall and will stream on Hulu the following day.
