The ensemble comedy will be brought to market through a collaboration between Sperling, Pathfinder Media's Mark Wheeler, and director Todd Biermann. Stage 32's Richard "RB" Botto and Geoffroy Faugérolas are attached as executive producers.
Biermann praised Sperling's screenplay as a crowd-pleaser with "elevated stakes, genuine heart, and an original voice." Sperling, a Los Angeles-based writer with a significant digital presence, previously worked at Lionsgate and completed the Fox Writers Program.
Additionally, two screenplays earned honorable mentions. Lissette R. Jean-Marie's "Book F*cker" received feature recognition, while the writing duo Emma Pyne and Sarina Taylor were honored for their TV pilot "Safe Word." These emerging writers will receive mentorship from industry partners.
Stage 32 emphasizes its mission to discover new voices and empower emerging creators, breaking down traditional barriers to Hollywood accessibility. This partnership with Pathfinder Media is a significant extension of that commitment.
