Sentimental decorations, such as advent calendars crafted from a daughter's baby clothes or items gifted on a wedding day, add a personal touch to the festive displays.
The judging criteria emphasize a deliberate effort to cultivate an atmosphere where cherished family moments can unfold. While new and surprising ideas are welcomed, the judges also hold a deep appreciation for well-worn traditions that evoke warmth and nostalgia each year. The ultimate goal is to find a home that truly captures the essence of Christmas.

Scotland's Christmas Home of the Year 2025 is set to air on BBC One Scotland on Monday, December 15th, at 8:00 PM, offering viewers a glimpse into some of the nation's most enchanting holiday homes.
