'From': A New Mystery Town Grips Sci-Fi Fans

The sci-fi horror series "From" premiered on EPIX (now MGM+) in 2022, quickly building a dedicated fanbase through its consistent and inventive storytelling. The premise centers on a group of survivors unexpectedly trapped in an isolated town plagued by terrifying monsters.

Comparisons to the iconic 2000s show "Lost" are frequent, with the town serving a similar role to the island in the earlier series. Both shows employ a mystery-heavy narrative structure that focuses on character development. Notably, "From" features Harold Perrineau in a prominent role, a parallel to his presence in "Lost."

This connection is further strengthened by the involvement of "From" creatives Jeff Pinkner and Jack Bender, who were instrumental in developing "Lost." Pinkner highlighted the importance of strategically revealing answers while simultaneously introducing new questions, a technique that defined much of "Lost's" appeal for many viewers.
