Savannah Guthrie has withdrawn from her role covering the 2026 Winter Olympics. This decision comes as her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing from Tucson last month. Mary Carillo has been named as Guthrie's replacement, set to co-host the Opening Ceremony with Terry Gannon.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her home on January 31 and was reported missing the following morning when she failed to attend church. The Guthrie family has expressed gratitude for public support and stated their sole priority is Nancy's safe return.
Mary Carillo brings extensive experience to the role, having previously competed as a professional tennis player and won a Grand Slam title. She transitioned to broadcasting after her playing career and has covered numerous major sporting events, including multiple Olympics. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White will also join the broadcast team, offering his perspective on the games.
