Summary
- Sarah Jessica Parker recalls wild, late-night costume fittings for SATC.
- Designer Molly Rogers sourced unique items from global attics.
- Parker admits to wearing almost anything presented during fittings.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who first played Carrie Bradshaw in 1998, is sharing memories of her extensive costume fittings for Sex and the City and its recent revival, And Just Like That. The actress described the late-night sessions with designer Molly Rogers as "ridiculous" and "fun," often occurring at 2, 3, or 4 a.m. after shooting wrapped.
Parker recalled being willing to "put anything on" for Rogers, who collaborated with original costume designer Patricia Field. Rogers, known for her global connections, would find remarkable pieces from attics and homes in locations ranging from Albany to outside London.
These intense fitting sessions occurred when the cast and crew had fewer personal commitments, allowing for such dedicated creative exploration. Rogers, who won an Emmy for her work on the original series, recently reflected on how many of her favorite envisioned looks for Parker did not make it to the screen.
Rogers also recounted an instance where a dress "dry rotted off" of Parker during a scene, highlighting the sometimes precarious nature of the vintage and unique garments utilized. This period of filming allowed for adventurous fashion choices, embracing pieces that were even close to disintegrating.
