This period of low visibility began after her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, faced allegations of misconduct in public office in February. Ferguson had reportedly been rumored to be in various locations, but a source confirmed her consistent presence at the alpine retreat.

Her last public appearance was in December 2025, attending the christening of her granddaughter, Athena. Prior to that, she had maintained a low profile since September 2025.
