Actress Recalls 'Roseanne' Role Backlash

Sarah Chalke recently shared her experiences taking over the role of Becky Conner on the beloved sitcom 'Roseanne'. She explained that even though the internet was not prevalent in 1992 when she joined the show, she still encountered negative feedback.

Chalke recounted an incident at a Tibet rally where a fan directly criticized her casting. She admitted that her youth and naivety were key to her ability to handle the pressure of the high-profile role. This lack of full comprehension, she believes, allowed her to audition and perform without being overwhelmed.

While Lecy Goranson originated the character, Chalke stepped in for several seasons. She also returned to 'The Conners,' the revival series, portraying a different character. Chalke later found significant success on the comedy 'Scrubs.'
