Summary
- Santoshi's Saragarhi film was shelved after Kesari's announcement.
- He claims Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar's Kesari impacted his project.
- Santoshi alleges OTT and satellite platforms withdrew interest post-Kesari.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi has spoken out, accusing Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar's "Kesari" of negatively impacting his own planned film about the Battle of Saragarhi. Santoshi stated that his project, starring Randeep Hooda, was already in pre-production when "Kesari" was announced and subsequently released.
Santoshi aimed for an authentic portrayal, having prepared actors and scouted locations in Rajasthan. However, he felt that the Bollywood industry, a 'family,' should have consulted him before proceeding with a similar subject.
He claimed that the release of "Kesari" by a major producer and star caused OTT and satellite platforms, who were in discussions with his project, to back out. This competition, Santoshi believes, was a deliberate tactic to disrupt his film's business prospects, leading to its eventual halt after 20 days of shooting.
