Actor's Second Shot: From Obscurity to Bollywood Stardom

Sanjay Mehandiratta's career has experienced a significant resurgence, with the actor achieving prominent roles after an earlier pursuit of his creative dreams was deferred. He gained recognition for portraying Pakistani President Zarwari in the highly successful 'Dhurandhar' film series.

Mehandiratta recently addressed the discussions around 'Dhurandhar,' clarifying that the film should not be viewed as a historical account but rather as a fictional narrative. He articulated that the distinction between patriotism and jingoism is subjective and depends on individual perspectives.

He highlighted that director Aditya Dhar created the film from his viewpoint on patriotism. Mehandiratta believes that criticisms are valuable and that artistic expression and critique are essential components of a vibrant democracy, contrasting India's openness with more restrictive political systems.

Looking ahead, Mehandiratta is set to appear in Madhur Bhandarkar's "Wives," which explores the personal lives of Bollywood stars' spouses. He also has an upcoming Telugu film project, though details remain undisclosed.
