The cast of the beloved 1993 film 'The Sandlot' are reuniting for a new series titled 'Dugout Dads,' set to debut on YouTube on August 26 with weekly episodes. While many original actors are involved, the series will feature original characters unconnected to the '90s movie. Patrick Renna, who starred as Ham Porter, explained that the characters are inspired by the actors' own personalities, albeit heightened versions. The series focuses on the actors as parents and rival coaches in a Little League setting.
Renna highlighted the surprising physical transformation of Marty York, who played Alan "Yeah-Yeah" McClennan. Renna described York as the 'scrawniest little guy' during 'The Sandlot' filming but now notes he is '200 pounds of pure muscle' and described as a 'behemoth' by co-star Danielle Fishel. The cast returning for 'Dugout Dads' includes York, Tom Guiry, Chauncey Leopardi, Brandon Quintin Adams, Victor DiMattia, Shane Obedzinski, Grant Gelt, and Will Horneff. Renna is also producing the series through his company, Hambino Media.
