13 Mar
Summary
- Hagar and Eddie Van Halen reconciled before his death in 2020.
- Hagar stated he will never play with Alex Van Halen again.
- Hagar believes Alex is angry because Hagar and Anthony continue performing.

Sammy Hagar shared that his reconciliation with the late Eddie Van Halen before his death in 2020 was profoundly meaningful.
Hagar, however, stated in a recent interview that he has no intention of ever playing with Alex Van Halen again, comparing the situation to David Gilmour's stance on Roger Waters. This follows over two decades since their last tour together.
Hagar believes Alex Van Halen harbors resentment, possibly due to Hagar and Michael Anthony continuing to perform Van Halen's music. He suggested Alex may be upset that he cannot participate in these performances as he is not a singer or guitarist and may no longer wish to play drums.
Eddie Van Halen, Hagar's former bandmate, passed away in 2020. Hagar cherished their reconciliation, noting that maintaining a good rapport via text in the months before Eddie's death meant 'everything' to him. This connection allowed Hagar to feel at peace discussing his time in Van Halen.
Hagar also touched on his relationship with David Lee Roth, describing them as 'oil and water' and noting his attempts to build a friendship with Roth have not been successful.
