A listener directly questioned his feelings about hearing the song "Steal My Girl" by One Direction, given that one of its members is now dating his ex-girlfriend, Zara McDermott.

After a moment of surprise, Thompson responded positively, calling the song a "brilliant song" and admitting he still listens to it. He expressed happiness as long as everyone involved is content, noting he has met McDermott's new partner and finds him to be a pleasant individual. This public acknowledgement comes after Thompson and McDermott concluded their five-year relationship in late 2024.
