Sam Thompson's Nervous Hospital Visit for Vocal Cord Surgery

Sam Thompson, a well-known TV, radio, and podcast host, recently underwent surgery to address a cyst on his vocal cords. The procedure, which had been scheduled for some time, involved removing the growth that frequently caused him to lose his voice due to excessive shouting and loud talking.

Ahead of the operation, Thompson, 33, shared his anxieties from his hospital bed. He expressed nervousness about the surgery itself and the prospect of being put under general anesthesia for the first time, stating a dislike for situations where he lacks control. Thompson also shared humorous observations about using numbing cream, initially unaware of its typical application.

Following the successful surgery, Thompson is expected to observe a period of vocal rest. He informed his followers that he would be unable to speak for three days as part of his recovery process.
