Open For Sam Smith: Emerging Artists Wanted
22 Jul
Summary
- Ten emerging artists will open for Sam Smith's UK shows.
- Artists can submit music via BBC Introducing Uploader.
- Winners to be featured across BBC Introducing platforms.
Emerging artists in the UK have a unique opportunity to perform alongside global superstar Sam Smith during their September residency shows in Manchester and London. Ten selected artists will have the chance to open for Smith's concerts.
To be considered, artists must upload their music to the BBC Introducing Uploader between Wednesday, July 29, and Wednesday, August 5, tagging their submission for Sam Smith's consideration. A BBC Introducing panel will shortlist candidates, with Sam Smith making the final selection of the ten opening acts.
The winners, to be announced later this summer, will not only perform at the residency shows but will also be featured across BBC Introducing's platforms. This initiative is part of the BBC's Summer of Music 2026, a comprehensive season of music content and live performances.
Sam Smith's residency shows in Manchester and London follow the release of their album 'Hazel Eyes' in August. The singer will perform two nights at Manchester's Albert Hall and eight nights at London's Coliseum.
