Laura Tingle, ex-partner of actor Sam Neill, has shared details about his intense, five-year fight with blood cancer. She revealed that Neill underwent significant chemotherapy and immunotherapy, which, while ultimately clearing him of the disease, left his immune system severely compromised.

Tingle described Neill's body as exhausted from the extensive treatments, noting he had been quite ill in the preceding weeks. The Jurassic Park star's family confirmed his passing on Monday, July 13, at age 78, stating he died surrounded by family in Sydney, Australia.

The family's statement emphasized that Neill was cancer-free at the time of his death, attributing his passing to the cumulative toll of his illness and treatments. They expressed gratitude for the care received at St. Vincent's Private Hospital and requested privacy during their time of grief.
