A scandal has erupted involving a prominent Sydney hair salon after its co-founder accidentally sent critical messages about a bride's wedding hair to the bride herself. Marilyn Koch, a key figure at the Joh Bailey salon, mistakenly sent disparaging remarks in a group chat that included the newlywed, Jessica Leis.
Ms. Leis had engaged the salon to style her 11 bridesmaids for her wedding at La Gemme Estate in the NSW Southern Highlands. The accidental messages, which described the bride's hair as the 'worst' and insulted the groom's appearance, were later shared on TikTok, gaining viral attention.
Koch has since distanced herself from the incident, stating that client privacy is paramount and the salon policy is not to discuss clients. She expressed that their focus remains on maintaining a successful and client-focused business.
Hairstylist Dom Pelli, who styled the bride, also addressed the controversy, expressing his dismay at the negative comments regarding his work and emphasizing his dedication to the bridal industry.
