Salman Khan's 'Maatrubhumi' Stalls at Censor Board
27 Oct
Summary
- Maatrubhumi's censor screening delayed despite government clearance.
- Salman Khan seeks early screening to meet November 13 release date.
- Release date is strategically chosen to avoid clashing with other films.

Salman Khan's upcoming film, previously known as Battle of Galwan and now titled 'Maatrubhumi', is encountering a significant hurdle as it awaits certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Despite reportedly securing clearance from the government, the film has yet to undergo its official screening.
The application for censor certification was submitted in early October, with an expected screening on October 26 that did not materialize. To expedite the process, Salman Khan has personally engaged with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Delhi, making multiple visits to advocate for an early viewing.
The filmmakers are keen to release 'Maatrubhumi' on November 13, a date chosen to preemptively avoid clashes with Rajshri Productions' 'Yeh Prem Mol Liya', slated for a November 27 release. This strategic decision also led them to rule out a November 20 release. An earlier consideration for a December 4 release was dismissed due to Jio Studios, the film's distributor, also releasing the Shraddha Kapoor-starrer 'Eetha' on the same day.
Salman Khan has reportedly made all the necessary changes requested by the ministry and adhered to all rules for certification. The release remains contingent on the CBFC issuing the certificate in a timely manner.
