Salman Khan faces new warrants over pan masala ad
10 Feb
Summary
- Actor Salman Khan summoned again by consumer commission.
- Fresh bailable warrants issued for appearance on Feb 23.
- Contempt petition linked to alleged misleading pan masala ads.

The Jaipur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-II has issued fresh bailable warrants for actor Salman Khan. He is summoned to appear on February 23 in connection with a contempt petition related to alleged misleading advertisements.
These warrants were reissued after previous ones were not executed. Khan's plea to cancel the warrants was rejected by the commission. His legal representatives contended that the advertisement in question was for "silver-coated elaichi," not pan masala.
However, the complainant's counsel highlighted that large hoardings and advertisements were displayed on January 9, allegedly violating an interim ban imposed on January 6. This act was cited as contempt of the commission's order.
