Salman Khan Gets Interim Relief in Pan Masala Case

The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has granted interim relief to actor Salman Khan. On Friday, the commission stayed an order previously issued by the district consumer commission in Kota. This original order had mandated Khan's personal appearance in connection with a pan masala advertisement case. The State Commission has also decided to transfer the case to its circuit bench located in Kota for subsequent hearings. This judicial respite follows a revision petition that was jointly filed by Rajshree Pan Masala and Salman Khan. Earlier, the Kota consumer commission had directed a forensic examination of signatures purportedly made by Khan on court documents. The district commission had issued this directive after accepting a complainant's objections regarding the authenticity of the signatures, requiring the actor to provide specimen signatures in person.
