Salman Khan Clarifies Pan Masala Endorsement: 'Just Cardamom!'
29 Nov
Summary
- Salman Khan states he only endorsed silver-coated cardamom, not gutkha.
- His lawyer argued the consumer commission lacks jurisdiction in the case.
- The complainant questioned the authenticity of Salman Khan's signatures.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has officially responded to allegations of endorsing a misleading pan masala advertisement, presenting his case before the Kota Consumer Court. Through his legal counsel, Khan clarified that his promotion was exclusively for silver-coated cardamom and explicitly denied any involvement with gutkha or pan masala products.
Khan's lawyer, Ashish Dubey, contended that the Consumer Commission overstepped its bounds by entertaining the complaint, as the actor is neither a manufacturer nor a service provider in this sector. Dubey further argued that the lawsuit constituted 'unnecessary harassment' against Khan, lacking any legal foundation.
Adding a layer of complexity, the complainant has challenged the authenticity of the signatures on Salman Khan's submitted documents. This has prompted a request for the actor to appear in court personally to verify his signature, with the next hearing scheduled for December 9.
