Legendary screenwriter Salim Khan was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on February 17 after suffering a minor brain hemorrhage. Following his admission, high-profile visitors including Salman Khan, Javed Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Sanjay Dutt visited the facility to support the family.
Providing an update on his condition, Aamir Khan shared that while Salim Khan remains in the Intensive Care Unit, his health is steadily improving each day. Aamir noted that he has been in constant touch with Salim’s daughter, Alvira, and expressed optimism for a full recovery.
Medical bulletins from the hospital clarified that the veteran writer was brought to the emergency department by his family doctor before being moved to the ICU for specialized management. A multidisciplinary team of specialists, including neurologists and cardiologists, is overseeing his care. On February 18, Dr. Nitin Dange performed a successful Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) procedure. Hospital officials emphasized that the procedure went well and confirmed that no major surgery was required.
While some reports suggested a more dire situation, doctors clarified that his condition was never as critical as initially rumored. He remains under close observation as he recovers. Salim Khan is best known for his revolutionary partnership with Javed Akhtar, crafting iconic Bollywood hits such as Sholay, Deewar, and Don.
