Sadie Sink Tackles Emma Cline's 'The Guest'

Sadie Sink, acclaimed for her roles in "Stranger Things" and "The Whale," is reportedly in negotiations to star in the film adaptation of Emma Cline's popular novel, "The Guest." Sink is slated to play Alex, the protagonist who finds herself adrift in the wealthy Hamptons after a breakup. The novel, a literary sensation in the summer of 2023, follows Alex's transient lifestyle as she seeks shelter and social engagements.

Lorene Scafaria, recognized for her work on "Succession" and "Hustlers," is expected to write and direct the adaptation. A24 and Square Peg Productions are collaborating on the project. The production companies engaged in exclusive negotiations for the film rights, prevailing over numerous other interested parties. This collaboration brings together Scafaria's expertise in portraying affluent circles and Sink's recent mainstream success.
