Dismissed Lawsuit Revived: Rymir Satterthwaite's Fight to Prove Jay-Z Paternity
6 Nov
Summary
- Rymir Satterthwaite alleged Jay-Z is his biological father
- Satterthwaite's former legal guardian filed lawsuit against Jay-Z
- Lawsuit claims Jay-Z intentionally inflicted emotional distress and committed fraud

As of November 6th, 2025, a new legal battle has emerged in the ongoing saga surrounding Rymir Satterthwaite's claim to be the son of renowned rapper Jay-Z. Three months ago, Satterthwaite had dropped his federal lawsuit against Jay-Z, but now his former legal guardian, Lillie Coley, has filed a lawsuit against the Roc Nation founder.
Coley, who assumed guardianship of Satterthwaite in 2011 following his mother Wanda Satterthwaite's terminal illness, is seeking compensatory damages and restitution. The lawsuit alleges that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has intentionally inflicted emotional distress on Satterthwaite and committed fraud amid the fallout of past dismissals.
This latest development comes after Satterthwaite's own federal lawsuit against Jay-Z was dismissed just three months ago. The 2025 lawsuit aimed to establish Jay-Z as Satterthwaite's biological father, but it appears the legal battle is far from over as Coley's new case seeks to hold the rapper accountable for his alleged actions.
