Actor Ryan Gosling recently confirmed that he has been in discussions with Marvel Studios regarding the possibility of him taking on the role of Ghost Rider. During an appearance on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, Gosling stated that while talks have occurred, the situation is "complicated."
Gosling's interest in playing the Spirit of Vengeance dates back to at least July 2022. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has acknowledged Gosling's desire for the role, expressing an openness to finding a place for him within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The character of Ghost Rider, a motorcycle stuntman who makes a deal with Mephisto to save his father and becomes the Spirit of Vengeance, was first brought to the big screen by Nicolas Cage in 2007. A sequel followed in 2012. The character's comic book debut was in May 1972.
