Ryan Gosling is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ghost Rider. The announcement was made at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 25. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige revealed the upcoming Ghost Rider film during the studio's panel in Hall H.
Directed by Shawn Levy, this project reunites the filmmaker with Gosling, who recently collaborated on the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter movie. The Ghost Rider film is slated for a 2028 release, with Star Wars: Starfighter expected on May 28, 2027.
Gosling first expressed interest in playing the supernatural character in 2022, and discussions progressed over the following years. This will be the second live-action adaptation of Ghost Rider, following Nicolas Cage's portrayal in 2007.
