Summary

- The show explores dark themes of online disinformation and its consequences.
- Russell T Davies aims to comment on the world's current issues.

A television set disguised as a normal Manchester home sets the scene for "Tip Toe," Russell T Davies' latest thriller. The series follows two neighbors, one gay and one straight, whose feud escalates due to one character's descent into online disinformation, leading to dire outcomes.
Alan Cumming portrays Leo Struthers, a 59-year-old bar owner, who is revealed to be dead at the start of the series. Cumming described the concept as "clever" and "suspenseful," noting how the narrative unfolds despite his character's demise.
David Morrissey plays Leo's neighbor, Clive Goss. Morrissey and Cumming, friends for over four decades, tackle "tough stuff" on screen, relying on their bond to push dramatic boundaries while ensuring mutual well-being off-camera.
"Tip Toe" addresses current issues, unlike Davies' previous works like "It's a Sin" or "Years and Years." Davies expressed concern about the world's worsening state and hostility towards the queer community, a shift from his optimistic outlook during "Queer as Folk's" filming in 1999.
Episodes one and two of "Tip Toe" are scheduled for release on Channel 4 on Sunday, May 31, and Monday, June 1. Davies continues to be inspired by the ever-changing world for his future projects.
