Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, the iconic duo of Rush, made a significant return to the stage at the Juno Awards, opening the ceremony with a live performance. This event marked their first time playing together as Rush since concluding their R40 tour on August 1, 2015, nearly a decade ago.
For this comeback performance, they debuted Anika Nilles as their new drummer, who impressed with her virtuosic playing on a large drum kit. The band performed "Finding My Way," the inaugural track from their 1974 debut album, Rush. While Neil Peart was memorialized with video imagery, Nilles stepped in for the late drummer, who joined the band after the initial recording.
This appearance is a precursor to their "Fifty Something" tour, commencing on June 7, 2026, at The Forum in Los Angeles. What began as a 12-date schedule has expanded significantly to 58 shows spanning the United States, Canada, and Mexico, including multiple dates in Toronto. Each concert promises an immersive experience with two sets, featuring a rotating selection of approximately 35 songs.
