Rush Reunites for 50th Anniversary Tour in 2026

On October 6, 2025, legendary Canadian rock band Rush announced plans for a 2026 tour to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The tour, dubbed "Fifty Something," will see founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson return to the stage, joined by German drummer Anika Nilles.

The decision to tour again was not an easy one for Lee and Lifeson, as they have been grieving the loss of their longtime drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020. However, the two musicians found themselves drawn back to the music they had created together over the past five decades. After privately jamming on Rush songs, they realized they "fucking miss it" and felt it was time to celebrate their legacy.

The upcoming tour will feature a vast selection of Rush's most beloved songs, with the band planning to work up 35-36 tracks to allow for a varied setlist each night. While marathon three-hour shows may not be in the cards, fans can expect over two hours of music, with the band paying tribute to Peart's extraordinary contributions at least a couple of times during each performance.

Nilles, an award-winning composer and producer, was brought on board after impressing Lee and Lifeson during a secret "experiment" session in Canada. The band acknowledges that replacing Peart is an "impossible" task, but they are excited to introduce Nilles to their loyal fanbase and see how she adds her own chapter to the Rush story.
