Season 2 of Netflix's "Running Point" has premiered, featuring a surprising "My Girl" easter egg. Brenda Song, who stars as Ally, shared that the tribute to her fiancé Macaulay Culkin's iconic film was a last-minute addition. The writers incorporated a scene where Ally and her college roommate Isla, played by Kate Hudson, bonded over crying while watching "My Girl." Song mentioned Culkin only approved the nod two days before the season's release on April 23.

Song also playfully addressed Culkin's desire for more on-screen roles in the series, joking that he pitches himself every season. "Running Point" Season 2 sees Isla Gordon facing increased pressure as the leader of the Los Angeles Waves. The premiere event was attended by stars like Hudson, Drew Tarver, Justin Theroux, Ray Romano, and co-creators Mindy Kaling and Ike Barinholtz. Barinholtz discussed his role as the "kooky" cousin Bennie, a character far from his initial pitch, while Romano described his character as a basketball savant turned recluse. The show's creators are already planning for a potential Season 3, aiming to maintain intense family dynamics. Meanwhile, Barinholtz is halfway through production on Season 2 of "The Studio," which features a trip to Venice. Kaling is also developing a new series, "Not Suitable for Work," exploring themes of ambition in one's twenties.
