Terry Hutt, a devoted fan of the Royal Family renowned for his distinctive Union Jack attire and nicknamed 'The Union Jack Man' by the late Queen Elizabeth II, has died at the age of 91. Hutt, from Weston-super-Mare, gained recognition for his tradition of camping outside hospitals for extended periods in anticipation of royal births.
His daughter, Tracey Joy, fondly remembered him as a "tireless" campaigner for the NHS and Birnbeck Pier, highlighting his passion for life, love for his family, and his dedication to his causes. Hutt's royalist devotion began at age four, inspired by a gift from the King and Queen after the Blitz.
In 2013, he spent nearly two weeks outside St Mary's Hospital awaiting Prince George's birth, and later, at age 79, he slept outside the same hospital for Princess Charlotte's arrival. He also actively collected signatures for the restoration of Birnbeck Pier.
