Roy Wood Jr. is returning to host the 78th annual Writers Guild Awards New York ceremony. The event is scheduled for March 8th at Manhattan's Edison Ballroom. This will be Wood Jr.'s second time hosting the WGA East and WGA West simultaneous award ceremonies.
His popular CNN satire news program has seen significant viewership growth. Wood Jr. also has upcoming roles in Amazon Prime Video's "Barbershop" series and the Apple TV comedy "Outcome." His past writing and producing credits include "Command Z" and the PBS documentary "The Neutral Ground."
During the ceremony, Stephen Colbert will be honored with the Walter Walter Bernstein Award for his commitment to confronting social injustice. Additionally, Terry George will receive the Ian McLellan Hunter Award for career achievement. Diana Son will be presented with the Richard B. Jablow Award for her service to the guild.
