On November 5th, 2025, pop superstar Madonna took to social media to praise Rosalía's upcoming fourth album, 'Lux.' The Barcelona-born singer's ambitious new project, set to release this Friday, November 7th, 2025, features 18 tracks that blend genres and languages, with Rosalía singing in 13 different tongues including Spanish, Catalan, English, Latin, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Arabic, and German.
Madonna expressed her enthusiasm for the album, writing on Instagram that she "can't stop listening" to 'Lux' and calling Rosalía a "true visionary." The high praise comes as the Spanish artist prepares to unveil the follow-up to her 2022 release, 'Motomami,' which marked her first album to chart on the Billboard 200, peaking at No. 33.
Rosalía spent three years meticulously crafting the lyrics and instrumentation for 'Lux,' which she describes as a more orchestral, operatic project recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra. The album references notable women from history, including Saint Rosalia of Palermo, Chinese Taoist master/poet Sun Bu'er, the biblical figure of Miriam, and punk icon Patti Smith. "In the best-case scenario, the idea would be that whoever hears it feels light and feels hope," Rosalía said in a recent Billboard interview.
