Sci-fi Thriller 'Root' Promises Time-Bending Action

Filming is underway for "Root - Running Out of Time," an ambitious time-based sci-fi thriller. The movie stars Gautham Ram Karthik as Chezhiyan, a CB-CID investigative officer tasked with solving a series of murders. Karthik describes his character as initially arrogant but growing to balance his demanding job with his personal life, noting the role offers a wider range than his previous undercover cop part.

Aparshakti Khurana is featured as a crucial cast member, with director Sooriyaprathap S praising him as a 'beast in acting.' The film is described as a proper action thriller, currently shooting a fight sequence in a ballroom setting. Cinematographer Arjun Raja aims for a naturalistic and organic feel, employing specific lensing techniques and minimal lighting to achieve a unique visual style.

Beyond its visual and narrative elements, "Root" incorporates a diverse musical score. Editor cum assistant director John Abraham notes the music will blend classical, Western, and hip-hop influences, creating a unique auditory experience. Actress Pavni plays a homely character, the wife of Aparshakti Khurana's character, describing their on-screen relationship as loving and their working relationship as comfortable.
