Rookie Detective Lies to Protect Convicted Murderer

On November 14th, 2025, rookie detective David Ajala made his debut on the "Law & Order" squad led by Lt. Brady. Ajala's character, Detective Walker, and his partner Riley were tasked with investigating the murder of a high school basketball player destined for the NBA.

After uncovering that the teen's manager, who happened to be his adoptive father, was the killer, Walker and Riley had to determine if the father was lying about acting in self-defense. Walker eventually found security camera footage that he believed would exonerate the young man, but it actually proved the teen was capable of violent rage.

Rather than present the damning evidence, Walker chose to lie to Assistant District Attorney Nolan Price, claiming the tape didn't show anything noteworthy. The father was convicted of second-degree murder, but Riley later confronted his partner, revealing he had also seen the footage and knew of Walker's deception.

Walker defended his actions, saying he did what he thought was best, and that he hadn't broken any laws. Riley agreed that justice had been served, but issued a gentle warning to his new partner: "I don't do the lone wolf thing. So either we do this thing together, or you gotta find a different partner."
