The legendary British band, The Rolling Stones, is currently teasing a new project, potentially titled 'Foreign Tongues.' This initiative is being revealed through posters displayed in major world cities, all bearing the band's recognizable lips logo and the phrase 'Foreign Tongues' translated into multiple languages. A QR code on these posters directs fans to a dedicated microsite where 'Subversive Scents,' named after classic Stones songs, are available for purchase.
This cryptic campaign echoes a prior one for the band's alter ego, The Cockroaches, which also utilized a QR code and resulted in a limited-edition vinyl release. The Stones' most recent studio album, 'Hackney Diamonds,' dropped in 2023, earning a Grammy. While reports indicated a potential cancellation of a 2026 U.K./European tour, a follow-up album is reportedly in production, with hints of its release by 2026.
