The legendary Rolling Stones are preparing to release their 25th studio album, titled "Foreign Tongues," on July 10. This new 14-track collection celebrates the band's 64th anniversary and follows their Grammy-winning 2023 release. The album's cover art is a striking composite portrait by Nathaniel Mary Quinn.
The surviving members, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood, attended a red-carpet event in Brooklyn to mark the album's upcoming debut. The lead single, "In the Stars," has already been released digitally, with a physical distribution scheduled for May 15. A track titled "Rough and Twisted" was previously issued under the band's old pseudonym, the Cockroaches.
"Foreign Tongues" is the band's second studio album since the passing of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021. While Watts makes a special appearance on the new record, current contributions come from drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Darryl Jones. The album also boasts guest appearances from artists including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith, and Chad Smith.
Despite the band members' extensive careers, there are indications that "Foreign Tongues" may not be their final musical offering. Reports suggest the band has a stockpile of unreleased songs, potentially enough for another album.
